English Handbook Questions

1. The heading goes in the upper left corner. The heading includes your name, teacher's names, subject, period, and date.

comma slice: it is an error of joining two complete sentences w/ nothing but a comma.
fused sentence: runs two complete sentences together w/ no punctuation or/ conjunction between them.

5. The semicolon is used to combine to different statements in one.
6. The numbers that should be spelled out should be numbers that are ninety-nine and below.

8. The difference between "affect" and "effect":
"affect": it means "change," "disturb," or/ "influence."
"effect": it means "result," or/ "impact."
9. The difference between "there," "their," and "they're":
"there": it is meaning towards the other person.
"their": it is meaning possessive, towards the other person.
"they're":it is a contractive of they are.
10. A parallel structure:
they express parallel elements in the same grammatical form.
